Welcome to the March edition of the newsletter from Itasca in Sweden. We present some staff news, interesting projects, and we also highlight the role as a rock mechanics engineer - something we all should be proud of. We are also looking forward to meet clients and collegues in person again, after a long hiatus. We are planning to participate in four conferences this year, more on this below in this newsletter

Examensarbeten
Under 2022 handleder vi två examensarbeten - ett på Chalmers och ett på KTH. Vi är väldigt glada att få bidra till fortsatt utveckling för branschen genom att handleda studenter i

Eurock 2022

Bergdagarna 2022
Vi ser fram emot att äntligen få samlas på Bergdagarna igen! Det nya datumet är 28-29 september, i Stockholm. Vi har tre artiklar som kommer presenteras på Bergmekanikdagen. Vi deltar också på utställningen. Visst ses vi där? Läs mer här >>
Slope Stability 2022
Den största och viktigaste konferensen om släntstabilitet hålls i Tucson i oktober, och vi planerar att vara där! Läs mer här >>

MSc projects
During 2022 we are supervising two MSc projects - one at Chalmers and one at KTH. We are very happy to be able to contribute to continued development in rock mechanics by supervising students in their final projects!

Rock Engineering Days 2022
We are very much looking forward to meeting again at at the Swedish Rock Engineering Days. The new date is September 28-29, in Stockholm. We have three papers to be presented at the Rock Mechanics Day, and we will also have a booth at the exhibition. Hope to see you all there! Read more here >>
Slope Stability 2022
The largest and most important conference on slope stability will be held in Tucson in October, and we plan to be there.

Catrin utnämnd professor
Catrin Edelbro har utnämnts till Adjungerad Professor på
KTH. Catrin är även fortsättningsvis heltidanställd på Itasca, men kommer lägga del av sin tid på forskning, undervisning
och studenthandledning på KTH, med fokus på bergmekaniska risker.

after a few years absence!
Catrin appointed professor
Catrin Edelbro is appointed Adjunct Professor at KTH (Royal Institute of Stockholm). Catrin will continue to be a full-time employee at Itasca but devote time to research work, teaching, and student supervision, focusing on rock mechanical risks.
